(18) “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; (19) to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

From those Scriptures, we learn that Jesus came to:

​

    preach the Gospel to the poor
    heal the brokenhearted
    proclaim liberty to the captives
    give recovery of sight to the blind
    set at liberty those who are oppressed
    proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord

​

Let’s talk about each point mentioned.

​

1 – JESUS CAME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR

​

    It’s concerning becoming an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ.
    It also means to be born again.
    The good news is that you could inherit so much as a child of God, a citizen of God’s Kingdom.
    God does not pay by earthly standards; He pays by Kingdom standards. But the only way to benefit from the Kingdom is to become a part of the Kingdom.
    This is true riches: being a part of the Kingdom, being a citizen of God’s Kingdom.
    The Kingdom is supernatural, and a lot of what happens in the supernatural manifests in the natural.
    It’s the same thing with sowing and reaping: People want to be blessed, yet they disobey God’s laws; they are interconnected.
    Physically giving your tithes and offerings keeps you from being cursed.

Malachi 3:8-12 NKJV says,

​

(8) “Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,
‘In what way have we robbed You?’
In tithes and offerings.
(9) You are cursed with a curse,
For you have robbed Me,
Even this whole nation.
(10) Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
(11) “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the Lord of hosts;
(12) “And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

YAHWEH SAYS IT:

​

There will be a longing for many healing rooms with Yahweh pushing great power, and to maintain these healing rooms, Yahweh will request a separate gift not under the old covenant but a new way. And this gift will be a tithe of your income if you use the healing room. Not for the Church way but for the Kingdom plan of a healing room getting set up is the tithe plan in this document.

    God is a covenant God, and He cannot go against His own law. This is how the natural and the supernatural become interconnected.
    It’s the same thing when taking communion: You physically put the bread in your mouth and drink the wine, yet if your heart is not right and there’s sin in your life, it could lead to sickness, or as mentioned, death.
    The same is the other way: If you stand before Jesus to commune with Him and remember Him through communion with clean hands and a pure heart, you could receive great healing.
    Do you understand how the natural and the supernatural are interconnected like this? This is why faith is shown by works.

James 2:14-20 NLT says,

​

(14) What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? (15) Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, (16) and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? (17) So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. (18) Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” (19) You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. (20) How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

James 2:26 NLT says,

​

Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.

​

    This is the same for those who are poor: You must rely on Jesus for healing, for wealth, for full resources, because there are no limits in God’s Kingdom.
    God owns everything in His Kingdom, and for the poor to have access to that, they must come into the Kingdom. You must be born again.

2 – JESUS CAME TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED

​

Jesus said in John 16:33 NLT, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

​

    Take heart. Jesus overcame the world.
    Those of you who are in Jesus do not have to let your circumstances overwhelm you.
    When the storms of life come, Jesus is the peace that sustains you.
    You don’t have to live in your pains or sorrows because the joy of the Lord is your strength.
    Through Jesus, you can do all things.

Concerning Jesus, Isaiah 53:5 NLT says,

But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.

    Jesus can bring full healing to body, soul, and spirit.
    You don’t have to experience any type of woundedness continually because God’s power is able to break the cycle.
    God’s power is able to bring healing to the heart from past wounds.
    This is restoration—the healing of the heart that comes from Jesus.

​

Jesus said in John 7:38 NLT, “Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.”

​

    Jesus removes the pain of rejection and fills the heart with His love, with His Spirit.
    Jesus is able to fix, mend, restore, and make new.
    This is the new heart that Jesus wants to give to those who come to Him.
    This is where you see Jesus as your First Love, where there is intimacy, where you and Jesus are one.

From a partial reading of Jeremiah 31:3 NIV, the Lord says, “… ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.’”

3 – JESUS CAME TO PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES

​

    Anybody who is in sin is a slave to sin.

​

From John 8:34-36 NLT:

​

(34) Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. (35) A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. (36) So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

​

    Those who are in bondage to sin are also held captive by the sinful nature, where they walk in the flesh and not in the Spirit. This is where Satan has a grip on you, where you are in various addictions.
    Only the power of Jesus can set you free.
    People can only be free through Jesus, not from doing a ritual. It has to be broken in the spirit realm because that is what is bringing the bondage.
    Those who are not in Christ are already captive to sin, and you cannot be free unless you receive Jesus into your heart as Lord and Savior.
    Only the power of Jesus—the Spirit of Christ—can break off demonic strongholds. It’s not possible any other way because only God’s Spirit is greater than all other spirits.
    Jesus created all spirits, and at the name of Jesus, all created beings must bow.
    This is where true freedom comes in—through Jesus Christ, by His Spirit.

Romans 8:1-2 NLT says,

​

(1) So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (2) And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

​

4 – JESUS CAME TO GIVE RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND

​

    The blind are those who are being led by their souls; they have not been spiritually born again.
    This is where you rely on your own knowledge to understand, and you try to discern spiritual things with the natural mind.
    This is where you try to discern the Word with your natural mind as well. You are not gaining God’s thoughts; you do not hear from Jesus; you are not connected.

​

First Corinthians 2:11-14 NLT says,

​

(11) No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. (12) And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. (13) When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. (14) But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

In John 15:5 NLT, Jesus said,

​

“Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.”

​

    You are living a lie if you believe you can see, and you are not born again.

​

From John 9:39 AMP,

​

Then Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment [to separate those who believe in Me from those who reject Me—to declare judgment on those who choose to be separated from God], so that the sightless would see, and those who see would become blind.”

​

    You cannot see anything of eternal value if you are spiritually dead.
    To see, you must be born again.

​

Jesus said in John 3:3 NLT, “…‘I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.’”

​

5 – JESUS CAME TO SET AT LIBERTY THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED

​

    You are under various curses when you no longer have to be.
    Jesus came to set you free from the yoke of the enemy. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.
    You live under clouds of despair and hopelessness, but you no longer have to if you come to Jesus.
    You look for peace everywhere else when you can come to Jesus for peace. You look for satisfaction from worldly pleasures, yet you are still miserable. It’s because only Jesus can fill the void.
    God’s eternal life is the hope that you need.

​

Jesus said in John 10:10 NCV, “A thief comes to steal and kill and destroy, but I came to give life—life in all its fullness.”

​

Jesus also said, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27 NLT).

​

    God’s Kingdom operates differently than the world’s system.
    You can move in freedom from oppression in God’s Kingdom than under the world’s system.
    God’s Kingdom is not one of bondage and oppression.

​

Romans 14:17 NLT says, “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

​

    God’s Spirit gives life.
    There is liberty in Jesus through His Spirit. And you can experience this freedom that He offers when you believe in Jesus.
    Even when things “come down on you” in the natural realm, you don’t have to despair because Jesus is with you. His Spirit will lead you.

​

6 – JESUS CAME TO PROCLAIM THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD

​

    Jesus came so that all may live.

​

John 3:16-17 NLT says,

​

(16) “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. (17) God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.”

​

    Those who believe in Jesus will never really die.
    Those who believe in Jesus will receive eternal life.

​

Jesus said in John 11:25-26 NASB, “(25) …‘I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, (26) and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?’”

​

    Those who believe in Jesus will be reconciled back to the Father.

​

Colossians 1:19-20 NLT says, “For God in all His fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through Him God reconciled everything to Himself. He made peace with everything in Heaven and on Earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

​

Jesus said, “(39) You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to Me! (40) Yet you refuse to come to Me to receive this life” (John 5:39-40 NLT).

​

    Those who believe in Jesus will be able to see the Kingdom of Heaven.
    Those who believe in Jesus will have everything the Father has offered to those who are His children.
    Eternal life begins now. Eternal life begins now while on Earth for all those who receive Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior.
    This is the Good News! Jesus came so that all may have life.
    God’s kind of life is eternal life.
    Those of you who are in Jesus will live forever; you are citizens of Heaven.
    This is the Good News—that salvation is available to all who believe in Jesus, God’s Son.
    Salvation is available now.

​

Romans 10:9-10 NLT says,

​

(9) If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (10) For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

​

    The Kingdom of Heaven is available now, and if anyone wants to come into this Kingdom, Jesus is the way you must go. Jesus is the only Way. There are no exceptions.

​

Jesus said, “… ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6 NLT).

​

    It was by His blood. His blood made it possible. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission for sin. But Jesus paid the price.

​

Hebrews 9:11-14 NCV tells us:

​

(11) But when Christ came as the high priest of the good things we now have, He entered the greater and more perfect tent. It is not made by humans and does not belong to this world. (12) Christ entered the Most Holy Place only once—and for all time. He did not take with Him the blood of goats and calves. His sacrifice was His own blood, and by it He set us free from sin forever. (13) The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a cow are sprinkled on the people who are unclean, and this makes their bodies clean again. (14) How much more is done by the blood of Christ. He offered Himself through the eternal Spirit as a perfect sacrifice to God. His blood will make our consciences pure from useless acts so we may serve the living God.

​

    And this is the Good News: The price is paid in full, and eternal life is available to all who receive Jesus.

​

Romans 3:22-31 NLT says,

​

(22) We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. (23) For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. (24) Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. (25) For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, (26) for He was looking ahead and including them in what He would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He Himself is fair and just, and He makes sinners right in His sight when they believe in Jesus. (27) Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. (28) So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law. (29) After all, is God the God of the Jews only? Isn’t He also the God of the Gentiles? Of course He is. (30) There is only one God, and He makes people right with Himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles. (31) Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.

​

I want to give you an opportunity to give your heart to the Lord, to become a child of God, a citizen in God’s Kingdom. Take a moment right now and yield yourself to the Lord. Allow Him to do the deep work of healing—healing your heart and cleaning you from all sin. Let’s pray together.

Dear Jesus. I ask You to forgive me of all of my sins. I ask You to save me. I have turned my back on You, but now I come to You. Please cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Please heal me. Please heal me in every area of my life. Most importantly, please come to live within me. I want to know You. I want to have a relationship with You. I am Yours. I am Yours forever, my God, my King, and I choose to serve You for the rest of my days. Thank You, Lord, for dying for me and for saving me. I receive all that You have for me. I look forward to being with You forever. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, now that you have prayed this prayer and received Jesus into your heart, by faith, you are now a new creation in Christ. You are no longer the same. You are no longer that person you were a few minutes ago; Jesus is now in your heart. What’s wonderful is that His Spirit is with you. Yes, the Holy Spirit is with you. He will lead you and guide you, showing you the way through His truth that comes from God. Please share what you have learned today with others. Tell them of God’s Good News—what Jesus came to do, as mentioned in Luke 4:18-19. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

AN EXTRA NOTE: TITHES AND OFFERINGS

​

We are no longer under the Law. But let’s take a moment to note how giving an offering or a tithe can be seen to be how a person honored Yahweh. From Abel’s offering (ref. Genesis 4:3-4), Jacob’s verbal tithe vow (ref. Genesis 28:20-22), even to Abraham through covenants in Yahweh’s service (prophet covenant: Genesis 20; friendship covenant: Genesis 18). Also, review Hebrews 7:1-28 to see how Christ is our High Priest.

​

Throughout Scripture, to honor Yahweh was often manifested through a substance of giving.

​

(6) Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. (7) You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

But in the Church era, only the standing of giving an offering is required. But an individual can give a tithe vow and not be under the Law. Give how Yahweh says to, and stay away from attempting to gain wealth, health, and a version of prosperity based on the amount given.

YAHWEH SAYS:

​

Servant, was Abraham’s giving to Melchizedek given in the form of money, or was it a tenth of all, including his spoil? Understanding giving is where the people have confusion. King Jesus is the High Priest. Give ten percent or more of all, including time.

​

(1) For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham as he returned from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, (2) and Abraham gave him a tenth of all [the spoil]. He is, first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, which means king of peace.

YAHWEH CONTINUES:

​

It’s not just about money; it’s about communion.

​

(23) The [former successive line of] priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were each prevented by death from continuing [perpetually in office]; (24) but, on the other hand, Jesus holds His priesthood permanently and without change, because He lives on forever. (25) Therefore He is able also to save forever (completely, perfectly, for eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede and intervene on their behalf [with God].

(26) It was fitting for us to have such a High Priest [perfectly adapted to our needs], holy, blameless, unstained [by sin], separated from sinners and exalted higher than the heavens; (27) who has no day by day need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices, first of all for his own [personal] sins and then for those of the people, because He [met all the requirements and] did this once for all when He offered up Himself [as a willing sacrifice]. (28) For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak [frail, sinful, dying men], but the word of the oath [of God], which came after [the institution of] the Law, permanently appoints [as priest] a Son who has been made perfect forever.
